Niles Secret Sidewalk
So, now that I’m actually spending a bit of time with my blog (in addition to all the time I’m spending at work), I’m trying to buckle down on the whole Adwords/Analytics thing and pay attention to what’s going on.
As I said the other day, it appears that merely mentioning that you’ve got a good biscuit recipe is sufficient for drawing in some hits. It also appears, after looking at the results from my gallery, that one merely need to mention a secret sidewalk. Several years ago (2001?) when I was unemployed and living in Fremont, and looking for stuff to do, my housemates (some Fremont locals) and I went for photography expedition over there to see what’s up.
The “sidewalk” is actually the top of a square water culvert that goes past an old brick factory. It’s in pretty bad shape (there’s places where it’s caved in, although there’s a spot where it becomes a bridge over a fairly deep gully. I’m not up on the local lore, but it sounds like it used to be the party spot for teenagers.
The part that I found most interesting was the ruins of an old brick factory. You can still see the smokestacks standing in Google Maps:

Anyway, I’ve re-built my entire gallery, and some links may have changed. There were over 80,000 comments submitted and almost all of them were spam. I deleted them all. Sorry to anyone who had a legit conversation in there.
